‘HumJayega’ movie review
Cast– Wilson Bikram Rai (Takme), Babu Bogati, Parbati Rai, Reecha Dhital, Rabi Giri, Shyam Rai, Prajwal Giri
Director– Surendra Pun
We have heard plenty of jokes based on the legendary person HumJayega. But I never guessed how the person got this name until after watching the movie ‘HumJayega’. HumJayega is made from two words, ‘Hum’ which means ‘me’ and ‘Jayega’ which means ‘will go’. So, HumJayega refers to a person who will go or do anything for anyone who needs help. It is said that, HumJayega’s real name was Dal Bahadur Gurung and was born in Darjeeling (1922–1992). His ancestor migrated to Darjeeling from Panchthar Nepal.
However, the movie ‘HumJayega’ is not about the real person of Darjeeling, but a similar person (Babu Bogati) who likes to help others, a truck driver by profession, commonly called as HumJayega by people around him. “सहयोग भन्या पर्या बेला गर्ने हो, खान त जहिले खाई राकै त हो नि”, says Humjayega when he was called for help when he was having dinner, which translates as “help is what we should do first, as we have been eating everyday”. Other characters includes Bikram (Wilson Bikram Rai) and Laure in comic role.
HumJayega is a masala movie full of high voltage humor. It was movie of romantic comedy genre being able to deliver loads of hilarious moments while it failed in romance. Well, there was a bit of romance, but not enough to be as gratifying as Jerryy which was released two weeks ago. The thing I loved is that the movie was very engaging as it rarely had any boring moment until at the end I realized that the movie doesn’t have any clear story. Reecha Dhital was a poor for lead role. Even though Bobu Bogati was in the lead role, Wilson Bikram dominated the movie with his comic role and every dialogue he delivered was enjoyable. He has that charm and sense of humor that makes you want to see this movie once again. Other things to cherish about the movie are songs and the dances. Well, Wilson was an impressive dancer.
Plot:
The movie starts in a small hotel, where a person comes frustrated for not getting a bus driver. Soon after he leaves, another guy (HumJayega) arrives who looks upset for not getting a job. The hotel owner then recommends HumJayega to ask that person for job, which he immediately gets as he asks for it. HumJayega then starts his new job of driving a local bus. As he was driving, he spots a beautiful girl named ‘Kanchhi ‘, and falls in love with her at first sight. The movie revolves around his quest to embrace his new profession and the methods he applied to get the love of his life.
Watch or Not?
It’s all fun and you will definitely enjoy the movie, but if you are expecting a good story, then don’t go for it.
