Ichhya Review
Cast: Dayahang Rai, Subash Thapa, Deep Sikha Shahi, Om Prateek, Deshbhakta Khanal, Shyam Rai, Aayushma Karki, Rashmi Bhatta
Director: Munal Ghimire
Ichhya is about the feelings of a teenage girl, Pinky and her love story. We have a tradition of forcing our daughter to marry any guy of our interest and we don’t think what they want. Ichhya attempts to demonstrate that marriage should not be forcefully done. Munal Ghimire directed movie, Ichhya features Deepshikha Shahi in the lead role as Pinky opposite Suwash Thapa as Bivek. The movie also features superstar Dayahang Rai in supporting role.
Love is a force more formidable than any other. It cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could. Ichhya is a journey of Pinky to marry a guy she loves deeply and against her father’s wish. People in our country want to control their children because they think they have done everything for them. But we sometimes forget about our children’s wish and may sometimes destroy their life. Every person has a wish in their life. A parents’ reasonability is not only to raise their children but also is to fulfill their wish in different stages. Therefore, its often said it’s easy to give birth to a child, but very difficult to raise them.
Firstly, I was expecting a good movie as it featured Dayahang Rai. I was little upset as his role was not satisfactory. The script and screenplay was not good. There was very less funny side and less effort was made to make the story more romantic, maybe because less importance was given to the more important dialogues. For instance, a conversation in the office of pinky’s father about the office matters was shown which looked irrelevant to the main story. But I was less happy when Bivek and Pinky were doing sms dohori without letting the audience know what’s cooking. Also, the action didn’t look real. It was an average performance from Suwash Thapa and Dayahang Rai, but a fine display by Deep Sikha Shahi. She looked comfortable for a new artist.
Plot:
The movie starts as Pinky runs away from her home to fulfill her wish. Pinky is the only daughter of big lawyer (Om Pratik). A call from wrong number changed her life. She started to fall in love with Bivek who mistakenly called her instead of his friend. Pinky’s father wants Pinky to marry with a guy, Manoj who is also a lawyer. When Pinky says she is in love with Bivek, her father scolds her and forces her to marry with Manoj. Pinky decides to run away from her home and marry her love. But when she runs away, her father spread the news that Bivek has kidnapped Pinky over the media. So, to know how they react, you need to watch this movie.
Watch or Not?
