Stupid Mann is a romantic journey of Abhi(Jiwan Luitel) and Asma. Abhi is an emotional guy who was going to America but was struck in Thailand due to betrayal, where he meets Asma who is a beautiful Nepali girl living in Thailand with her father. It was a sad movie and I felt really sad about the movie, not because of the story, but of how the movie is. One more wasted Nepali movie. Stupid Mann is a romantic movie, but I couldn’t feel any romance inside, has lots of action, but not thrilled, and plenty of stuffs were clumsy.

For any movie, it’s really important that the audiences get connected to each character. It’s a really difficult thing to achieve this until everyone performs to their fullest. Niraj Baral has a lot of room to improve. He has good looks and that a plus but that’s not everything. If you cannot act well, it will be difficult to sustain in industry. With the likes of Dayahang, Saugat Malla and Arpan Thapa rising in the Nepali film industry, there has been increased competition in Nepali movie industry. So, it will be a nightmare for even Jiwan Luitel if he does be careful on which movie he plays and how much he makes effort to become a better actor. It’s always risk to play for a new director. It’s not just about competing Nepali movies now but we have lots of high budget foreign movies kicking our ass. You cannot just relax and say “Let’s make a movie”. Once your movie is released, it’s not just your movie. Your movie belongs to audiences as well, as they pay for it. So, you are not just the one who loses.

‘Plot:

Stupid Mann is love story set in the backdrop of the Thailand. It’s an emotional journey of the four main characters where each character has to struggle to find their love. Abhi is among them who works in restaurant at Thailand & dedicated to fulfill his family obligation. Age of 28, Abhi is sincere & sentimental. One day he meets a girl named Asma & falls in love at the first sight. Asma is a medical student, age of 25 living with his father. When Abhi’s feeling for Asma in reach your zenith, he comes to know that Asma is a call girl. Abhi’s dream shatters. In the mean time Asma starts to give attention to him but now Abhi ignores Asma.
