Nepali movie: Sambodhan is based on a quest of a police inspector and news reporter to find a serial killer. This Hemraj BC directed film casts Dayahang Rai as a senior inspector, and Namrata Shrestha as a news reporter of Kantipur media. Other cast in lead role includes Binay Bhatta who is also Youth Politician, Prashant Tamrakar and Suleman Shankar who is remembered as Ikku. Before this, Hemraj BC has provided super-hits like Hostel and Jerryy. There is also a special appearance of Gaurav Pahari and Salon Basnet.
If I say Nepal is a corrupt country, it would not be a surprise to anyone. People talk about corruption and bribery everywhere freely. Corruption is grounded in the roots of our country. We mostly blame government bodies for bribery, but corruption lies in each of us. Corruption has become part of our society and slowly it is killing our country. We break traffic signals and we try to bribe traffic police before he tries to take our license. We even bribe people to make our driving license and also to get our name on a scholarship. From school admission to job employment, corruption is grounded all over the country. These are just a few examples of us being corrupt in the root level. The great king Prithivi Narayan Shah said, “Ghus line ra dine desh ka satru hun” or people involved in giving or taking of bribery is the greatest enemy of our country. But as we see around us today, we see many enemies of our own country within us. The movie Sambodhan is related to corruption and corrupt people. As this is a suspense movie, I wouldn’t like to disclose story events here.
The Hostel was not a bad movie, Jerryy was even better and this time Hemraj BC has exceeded my expectations. The script is excellent and story-telling is even better. The director used both humour and thrills very carefully and the story seems to be a good balance. Most of the songs seem to be fitting for the film’s situations and helped in moving the story forward. Background score was good and the cinematography was perfect. Editing was perfect except on a few occasions. When Inspector Ramji was called by his senior (DIG) for the first time, the mouth movements and voice were not synced properly. Beside this, everything looked in order. Dialogues over the movie were brilliant. Dayahang Rai is back with his another sensational performance. He made just for his character as a strict police inspector and even excelled on few occasions. His performance made other look amateurs. Even the great Namrataa Shrestha looked to have lost grip in front of Dayahang. He is a rare talent and I salute him for his energetic performance once again.
There are very few things to criticize in this movie. One that I felt awkward is, to catch one old fellow, why would you need more than 10 police force with pistols. Secondly, I was a bit surprised to see how easily second suspect escapes from jail.
Plot:
Sambodhan is a movie about a serial killer. The movie starts as a person is murdered on the road. Ramji Gole (Dayahang Rai) is a senior police inspector and his assistant is Inspector Prabhat. Paru (Namrata Shrestha) on the other hand is the news reporter of Kantipur media. Every month, a person is killed in a similar manner, with lots of coins around his body. Sambodhan is the quest of Inspector Ramji Gole and his assistant to find this serial killer and know about him.
Watch or Not?
This is an exceptional movie with a very strong storytelling. This is a must watch movie for all movie lovers.
